Choreographer

Claire Kendall began exploring choreography as a sophomore at SUNY Purchase College back in 2015. Her first work, Abendempfindung, was created in collaboration with opera student Alexa Rosenberg for the Purchase Cares Benefit Concert in 2016. In the summer of 2016 after an inspiring course in Environmental Art, she and Photographer Brent Jacoby created Paradise Melting, an Art Book depicting the effects of climate change in the Colorado Rockies. In December of 2016, she was selected to reconstruct Abendempfindung for the Seoul Choreography Festival at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul. In March 2017, she created Late July in collaboration with Gabe Bradley from the Purchase Conservatory of Acting for the Junior Composition Project Showings. Just a few weeks later she premiered Chain Reaction at Earth Day 2017 in Union Square. In the fall of 2017, she created The Hive with two jazz musicians, Saul Cosme (Guitar) and Joshua Nelson (Saxophone), for HONEY, A Senior Dance Concert . Since graduating in January of 2018, Claire created The Gaslamp Killer for SPRINGbreak ChoreoFest at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, CO. This piece has since been commissioned by T2 Dance Project and performed as A Midsummers Nightmare in the Boulder Fringe Festival in August 2018. Her most recent work, Sophomore (Wise Fool), was choreographed for SpringBreak Choreofest 2019 and performed at the Dairy Arts Center this past March. Claire is currently working on a new dance film titled P R O J E C T F I N I T E with videographer Dillion Hinchliffe.
